I live in a small town in Idaho in the United States. I work for a company that manufactures and sells mermaid tails and swim fins for children and adults to use while swimming and playing.

I have been working on websites for over a decade. I started out using Coldfusion, back when it was an Allaire product, before Macromedia or Adobe bought it. I switched to PHP, and have been doing backend development for most of my career.

I really love javascript, but I have not fully embraced React, Vue, or Angular, because I still need to spend more time learning how it works for common use cases.

I love using the latest versions of CSS. If I had my way, I would never have to support old browsers! I prefer using CSS Grid instead of frameworks, and I can’t wait until the majority of browsers support it flawlessly.

Open source software has changed my life, and I am very grateful for developers that have given so much of their time and intellect to help advance humanity’s knowledge. Magento is truly a global gift, and it makes me very happy that programmers all over the world have contributed to this incredible software!

Here is a quote that I find very inspiring:

Everyday life is like programming, I guess. If you love something you can put beauty into it.
