Why is the billing address not saved on an order placement when the customer has chosen my custom payment method?

I am trying to figure out to save the billing address information but I have not understood which file to write of my payment module. thanks

When using paypal as a payment method none of those are used, do you know which are the methods used when paying with paypal?
