How to fix the «Call to a member function addCrumb() on boolean in module-sales/Helper/Guest.php» failure?

The problem method is \Magento\Sales\Helper\Guest::getBreadcrumbs():

The failure is caused by an absence of the breadcrumbs block on the problem page.
It may be because of a bug in the used design theme.

To fix the issue, restore the breadcrumbs block for the problem page.
