How to install Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition to compile PHP 7 for Magento 2 on Windows

Step 1

Download Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition:

Step 2

For space saving choose the Custom value for the Choose the type of installation option:

Step 3

On the next screen I chose the 2 options:

  1. «Programming Languages» → «Visual C++» → «Common Tools for Visual C++ 2015»
  • «Windows and Web Development» → «Universal Windows App Development Tools» → «Windows 10 SDK»

Disable all the other options.

Step 3

Finish the installation and restart the computer after you have installed Visual Studio 2015.
